blue smoke

I have blue smoke coming out my tailpipe on my 03 525 EXC 4 stroke. Can someone tell me how the cylinder on a 4 stroke gets lubricated? Does it work just like an oil pump in a V8?

I'm not sure if I have too much fuel or if the oil is getting past the rings. From what I understand there is only one oil reservoir for my bike right? Does my motor use the same oil as my transmission or are there two different places to fill up oil?

Hi Paul,

An '03 RFS has only the oily in the sump (no frame oil). There is only
one oil fill (on the rear brake side).

There are two oil pumps, one on the engine side and one on the
transmission side.

Are you losing oil?

I think I might be loosing a little.

Pull the spark plug and see if it's black.
