Default 400 XC-W power mods

I just picked up a 2009 400 XC-W with a JD Jet kit, stock other than that.
What are most people doing to these to pick up a little extra power.
I'm wondering if they are restricted from the factory like the street legal models.

A lot of folks open up the air box, and go to a higher end air filter.

I just installed a friend's 2010 450 EXC silencer with the pipe modded and no screen.
I have not had a chance to try it out yet.
I have a JD Jet kit and find the restricted stock pipe really contributes to heat.
Does anyone know if the two pipes are identical? They look exactly the same.
From what people are telling me it's really pointless to add a jet kit and leave the pipe stock.
BTW Baha, one of my fellow local members brought out his 300 XC-We yesterday and I gotta say what a machine?
You must be loving that new 'Berg!

I rode the berg out in the mountains just East of us this weekend.

What a joy, no issues or problems with it. I will need to get the
suspension beefed up, but other than that it floats over
rocks, roots and through sand.
If I had the rekluse automatic clutch in it, it would be perfect.
