Default Need some input

Right now I have an 01 Yamaha YZ125 and based on my size and skill level that bike just doesnt cut it anymore. I'm 6'2 240lbs when I'm in shape and working out daily. I mainly ride/race trails, but occasionally I'll head out to the tracks. I've been doing some research and looking around as to what my next bike is going to be. My dad rides an 05 450 EXC and I love that thing. I'm really interested in the 450 xc-w and maybe even the 300 xc-w. I dont think the 450 sx-f will do me any good if I mainly ride trails. What do you guys think I need to lean towards? Any feedback helps.

I am 6' 2" 210 and ride a 300 2 stroke.

It also depends on how bad your local laws are. Here in Kalifornia
some 2 strokes are red sticker, and can only be ridden 5 months out
of the year on trails.

I also like my '03 450 EXC, but for the more "technical" stuff,
my Berg is awesome.

The SX is only a 4 speed tranny too.

Do you have the xc or the xc-w? That 300 seems like a great bike, but at the same time I've been on a 2 stroke for a while and I'm liking the feel for the 450's, based on riding my dads. Have you ridden a 450 xc-w? If so what made you go with the 300 over the 450?

If I was riding mostly how I ride now (desert or more open fast terrain) , the
450 is much more suited for that. Plus my EXC had a plate.

I got to say, for the rocky uphills and tight single track stuff in our
mountains around here, I love that light 300.
