Question Help with '03 525SX rear brake light switch

Hello everyone,

I've got a '03 525SX and my rear brake light isn't working. There is a vertically mounted pressure switch screwed into the rear master cyl and I have 12v going into the switch. I expect to get 12v out with the brakes on and 0v with the brakes off. Instead I am getting ~4v with the brakes off and 1v with the brakes on. What gives?

Do I need a new switch or am I missing something obvious?

If I need a new switch does anyone know a parts supplier who ships KTM parts to Canada using UPS/FedEx? Our federal postal system is on strike so I need to use a private courier...

Thanks!!!

I'd try pulling the switch out and making sure that the is no debris in the
orifice.

Bikebandit (one of our sponsors) has that switch for $24 and ONLY ships
UPS outside the US.
