Default 2 stroke premix

I wanted to get a 250 sx as I've been a 2 stroke guy since always. I've been running Maxima K2 or 927 for my bikes for a while now but anyone here have any good suggestions on what other premix's work well with KTM 2 strokes?

Most of the guys I ride with use synthetic, mainly because
you can mix it in higher ratios (some are 100:1), so you
can carry less oil with you.

This is a fairly popular one, and I've never gone wrong with
Belray products.

damn 100to1, crazy. I was told to always stick to 32to1 by my motor guy.

It depends on the bike.

Synthetics don't need to be run as rich because of their
higher lubricity.

Do your research before you go 100:1, but that is what
I run in my 2-stroke waverunner, and my fishing boat outboard.

AMSOIL is one of the 100:1 oils. As matter of fact, Not only the First to implement 100:1 mix but The First 2 Cycle Synthetic oil.

The Best isn't cheap
Cheap isn't The Best

I'm a fan of Maxima K2 premix in my 2010 ktm 250 sx , super clean burning and 100% ester synthetic

I only run K2 and I disagree with 100:1 in any situation.

Its not ONLY about lubrication, its about sealing the rings. You need more oil to keep the rings sealed properly so that you don't get any blow by and loose power.

Trust me, if you run anything lower then 70:1 on any 125/250 you will be paying for it in the power department AND the bearings won't like it either.

I was running 40:1 and when I moved to 32:1, I felt a difference immediately. Even compression tests when hot were better with 32:1 then 40:1 and thats an almost insignificant difference. I just can't imagine what a hot motor at 100:1 would be like in the compression test.

There are a lot of great 2T oils out there. This is the best oil in my opinion! I run this at 40:1

Default 2 cycle oil ratios

Thanks for the info guys. I have been riding a 4 stroke and just purchased a 200cc mxc KTM. The manual stated 60:1 and I have had my grandson run 40:1 in his Yamaha YZ85. I split the difference in the manual and have been mixing 50:1 but after the discussion on this site I am changing to 40:1.

Do you guys run a 10-40w 4 stroke oil in your transmissions?

So many opinions on oil and ratios.

Motorex is all I run in my 2 strokes.

They recommend 100:1, KTM recommend 60:1, I actaully use 66:1 as it makes for 15 mls oil for 1 litre of fuel.

I had 9000+ kms on my 08 300 all drama free, so i will be sticking to it.
