Default KTM Hardparts Fan for 300 2 stroke

I used the same fan on my 08 300 and my new 2012 Husaberg TE300.

For $160 IMO its pretty good value.

Installation is relatively easy, involves cutting the rad hose and installing the heat switch between the two hoses.

The fan is then riveted onto the radiator with 3 rivets and connected to the wiring harness.

Where I ride its all pretty slow and technical and the 300 would often overheat and lose a fair amount of coolant. The fan has basically stoppped any coolant loss and it can be heard buzzing away when the going gets tough.

I did have a MP catch tank in the airbox too, but that was pretty crap so i removed it.

It actually looks better on the KTM than on the Berg, on the KTM it is completely hidden behind the rad shrouds, opn the Berg its very visible due to the open nature of the shrouds and it looks a bit naff, but as its not there to look pretty its not a real consideration.

The only drama I have had is that with the vibration of the 300 motor the rivets have tended to work lose and need to be re-done periodically.

IMO it's money well spent and it definetly works!

I'm honestly dissapointed with the suspension.

I bought into all the rave reviews from the various magazines, only to find that despite my best efforts and correct spring rates I preferred the OC fork on my KTM - which was re-valved.

Its more or less universally agreed that the CC fork is harsher than the OC but handles successive hits better, but where i ride, fast successive hits are rare.

Currently getting a re-valve by Dale EO in CA.

Low end power is great though and the steering / turn in is excellent, it somehow feels shorter than the KTM.
I'm sure Dale will have it working perfectly.

I had to re-valve my suspension from the get go because I am
205 lbs, and the stock Bergs and KTMs are set up for
about 160-170 lb riders.

I used a guy in Escondido CA. Rudy at ProPrept.

Great prices and does not charge to the 1/10 of an our...

I'm identical weight as you.

Dont you find it strange though that in almost all the dirt mags that tested the Berg very few complained about the suspension?

In fact some went as far as to say the best suspension on any dirt bike. I find it hard to believe they are all in the ideal weight for the Berg. Odd.

I should have learned long ago not to believe all I read.............

I chose Dale from the UHE forum, actually I have never seen a bad word written about his work....looking forward to the results.
