Hey Pete,

Ya, I tried the Pirelli tires back about 10 years ago on my XR's.

Riding in Baja we had to do a little street every once in a while.
One particular ride from Tecate to Mikes and then to San Felipe and
back (just under 500 miles 90% dirt 10% street), I literally wore
down the knobs and ripped of the rest to where the tire was trash.

Your right, there is no taper or transition radii on them.

Just an FYI, my '02 640 E came with Metzler MCE Karoo
dual sport tire. Those tires did not wear out for over a year, and
that included many 500+ mile rides in Mexico, and a Lost Coast enduro, and a Barstow/Vegas run. Not a pure dirt tire, but hooks up.

Thanks for the review!
