Rotella T6 5W40 full synthetic

Anyone using this oil in their RC8?

I've been using regular Rotella T 15w40 in all of my other bikes for years with no adverse effects. I am extremely reluctant to shell out $75/gallon for the stuff that KTM recommends, so I was wondering what other oils others are using, and specifically if any one has used Rotella products.

T6 is a highly refined oil made from group III mineral oil.
While it meets the legal definition of "synthetic", it is not a real synthetic in a scientific definition: using only group IV and/or group V polyalphaolefins/esters base stock.
Also, make sure whatever oil you choose meets the service standard JASO T904 MA/MA2 for motorcycles with wet clutches.
I'm using Castrol Power 1 Racing 10w50 which any Advance Auto Parts store can order for you (they only carry 10w40 in the stores)- I paid about $10.50/quart which is quite a bit cheaper than Motorex.

My personal opinion is we have high end/high class bikes. Oil is the one thing i don't go cheep on. Motorex power synt was developed and tested on the rc8. According to a moterex rep I talked to.

IMO it's the wrong viscosity. ktm use 10w-50. I use castrol RS or elf/total 10w-50.

I use rotella T6 in other bikes that I own. I've got at least 50k mles using rotella in motorcycles.
