Default Joe Rocket Hemp Motorcycle Jacket

The Joe Rocket Hemp jacket is a clever alternative to leather that isn’t Cordura or a ballistic nylon, but rather a heavy duty hemp textile motorcycle jacket. Hemp fibers are actually stronger and more durable than plain cotton and consequently, provide better insulation against the elements. Even though the Hemp jacket has a very pliable feel to it, Joe Rocket claims it “rivals road race quality cowhide” in terms of abrasion resistance. While we haven’t tested this aspect ourselves, or rep assures us that the Hemp’s chassis is actually very reliable and holds up well against road rash. Under the hemp outer can be found plenty of armor with CE-rated protectors covering the elbows and shoulders. The large spine pad in the back is removable and can be upgraded to a CE-certified back protector at a nominal cost.

Fitting the jacket is easy with snap-fit elastic adjustments on the arms and Velcro sleeve and waist adjusters. If you’re worried about the jacket flapping in the wind, you can even use the built-in loops found at the waist and attach it to your belt. This is especially handy when using Joe Rocket’s BIG AIR Ventilation System. BIG AIR is actually a mesh vent that runs the full length of the front opening – a zipper under a zipper, if you will, that’s surrounded by mesh at either side. This is designed to let copious quantities of fresh air straight into the jacket. There are even a pair of zipped vents at the aft flanks to let the air straight through. Ventilation is highly effective on hot days since hemp isn’t exactly the most breathable fabric on the market. When you need to stay warm, attach the included zip-in vest liner and close all the vents to take advantage of the excellent insulation.

If you’re looking for an alternative to leather motorcycle jackets but have been put off by textile street jackets because of their rigidity and crinkly feel, the Joe Rocket Hemp jacket is for you. For more information, you can read about this jacket here.

Call TJ at 866.931.6644 ext 817 to order. The Hemp jacket is available in black or olive colors in sizes ranging from small to 3X-large. If you prefer email, send a message to FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM with JOE ROCKET HEMP JACKET in the subject line and please be sure to include the size and color of the jacket you want for a fast response.

Joe Rocket claims that smoking this jacket “results in a headache, not a high” so don’t think that it’ll make a jam band sound cool either. The Hemp jacket is available in two colors: olive …

… and black. Both textile motorcycle jackets have a reflective stripe for enhanced safety when riding at night.

Ready for a wide range of conditions, the removable vest is easily stowed in the smallest of places when you don’t need it.

On warm days, take advantage of Joe Rocket’s BIG AIR Ventilation System by opening the main zipper to expose the mesh zip underneath.

Zipped vents on the back compliment the BIG AIR opening on the front.

In case anyone asks …
