I just sold my son 07 crf 50 and bought him ktm sxr adventure.I had no Idea that there was so many makes of the 50 and figured I was getting the bad boy one everyone talkes about but my son brought it to the track and he cant even make it up some of the hills without it bogging down.The auto. clutch/tranny seemed weird to me are they all like this?After looking up the value on kbb I saw that this was considered a enduro model.What is the differnce in the mx models and this one?Is there any thing I could do to this thing to make it able to climb hills?

do or redo your research. The Sr Adv is drum-braked, air-cooled play bike. Doesn't mean it couldn't be 'raced' but it's competitiveness will depend on it's condition, your son's ability/desire/experience and that of who else shows up.

sounds to me like the clutch is not set up properly, worn, using the wrong oil.....have you even been into the clutch yet? what springs/stack combo are you running? oil type? amount?

The 3rd happiest day of my life was the day my oldest son moved up to a KX65. Now I am going through the whole 50 thing again with my youngest.
