85 SX clutch case cover removal

I am trying to remove the clutch case cover, as per the manual, I cannot detach the the ball socket from the adjusting shaft and pull it out of the housing. Or take the case cover off. Any ideas, Thanks

Are you talking about 58 68 54 in this diagram?

Sorry I don't see the diagram. but this is what I am talking about. Page 4-3 of KTM-2004-85-Repair-Manual. removing Adjustment Shaft. I have removed the Control Shaft. but can't remove the Adjustment Shaft (59) (see attachments)
