New Member / Need Guidance

Hello all,

I am here because I don't know anything about KTM. My father in law however had a long time affinity for vintage European off road bikes. He lost a courageous battle with cancer a few months ago and I've been charged with handling his motorcycles for my mother in law. One of which is a 1992 250 2-Stroke. I will dig around in the forums for info and any suggestions for where to sell a working vintage bike is greatly appreciated.

I should've read the suggestions for introduction before posting, apologies. Thanks to my father in law I do ride. It's a Honda CRF 450X that I bought after his Husaberg FE501 beat me up a little after a 20+ year lay off. He and I rode trails in Bulcher Texas several times as well as The Alpine Loop in Colorado 3 years running.

My condolences for your father in-law.

I'd start out be just trolling around for motorcycle auctions, if there
is a local KTM dealer you might go down there and start asking
some questions.

Thank you for the link. I'm in research mode at this point trying to get a fair price. I'd also like to get a bit of my garage space back... I have his '92 KTM, '87 Husqvarna 430WR and my Honda "in the way".

Are there any indicators to confirm engine displacement? I looked at KTM cycle hutt for a VIN indentifier and actually discovered this bike is a 1991 model. I was told it is a 250 but the list of EXJ vins on the site includes several displacements. I also have a 1992 EXK identifier on a parts bike. I was told that one was a 300 but would like to confirm so my classified ad is correct.
