Hi everyone,

Glad to join the KTM forum

I recently bought a second-hand 690 Duke, which I believe is a 2008 or 2009 model, perhaps someone could point out how to work out which one it is. It had about 14,000 km (8,700 miles) on the Odo, but looks like it just popped out of the factory in Austria yesterday.

I was born in the UK, but now I live and work in Rodrigues, a small volcanic island in the middle of the Indian Ocean, max elevation 371m. The island measures 8 by 12 km and I use my bike to cross the shorter part go to work (South East Marine Protected Area) during the week, go shopping on Saturday mornings and enjoy myself on the windy roads that crisscross the island during my free time

Unfortunately I (only KTM owner here so far) have no qualified local mechanic which means all important work to my bike will involve shipping it over to the dealer in Mauritius which is some 700 km to the west

Anyways, looking forward to future exchanges...
