I'm sure this has come up before but I can't seem to find a discussion on this. I'm looking at doing a de-cat pipe like Arrow, Mivv or Remus and keeping the stock end can. I would most likely have a dealer here in the Phoenix area do the Akro Evo
flash update. Anyone running or ran this combo?
I use a Remus, removed the entire DB killer in stock can, reflash to the aKRA map,SAS removal(stop popping),PCV with the #4 Powercommander map,and finally a DNA air filter.......bike runs awesome.....(sea level & ambient temps at 70-80 F.)
I'm thinking about buying a stock cat off eBay for cheap and removing the cat core. I all ready have 2 stock slip ons, one normal and 1 de-baffled. The way the gasses are directed in the cat body after the core is kind of like a flowmaster muffler. Low restriction just a few direction changes. Core removed and akra map might sound great.
Maybe with sas removed and rotty dongles a remap wouldn't even be needed with stock cat baffles in place and just the core removed.
NJ, I gutted cat, takes time and patience but it can be done with dremel, and or drill,or both, and long needle nose pliers, taking out that honeycomb can be frustrating and tedious, but it came out clean, with alot of persuasion! Why don't u just get a cheap Remus ($189) and be done with it?...plus u remove about 7-8 + pounds!
Is someone able to support some visual educational material.:grin2:
Unlike the duke guys who are pro pic, you guys dont seem to be pic happy. Im thinking theres an age difference. Most young guys cant whip a 1290 out of the budget.
My problem with the stock pipe ... It is huge! 'Jersey' hit the nail on the head - IMHO - a Beautiful bike, needs something beautiful to finish 'her.'
