Not sure if this is accurate, but
on KTM twins when you search
for tire/wheels under the 690 SMC,
it shows the Dunlop sportmax Q3 with 160/180/190 sizes.
Is there a minimum clearance thats safe= 10mm each side.
Is it common to fit a wider tire to a certain rim size.
Ive been told the standard size is 160.
The previous owner fitted a dirt/road 140 on the back atm.
The usable area for my swing arm is 200mm +/- available.
The wheel rim(outside rim) is 140mm +/-
Theres 20mm gap between rim edge and chain edge
Back sprocket has 9mm +/- gap from the edge of the swing arm.
The motor front sprocket is actually a little offset to the outside line which means i could get a spacer into the back sprocket and bring it out another 5mm + from the tire giving 25mm +/- gap and the chain travel line is still good.
Estimated 140+25+25 =190mm.
Now to find a 180 tire thats legal for my rim and make it all work and keep the budget so the wife doesnt pull the handbrake on.
I thought my last guard position was too flat and the guard was to long . This time i used the brake disc as my reference length and gave it a little bit more down slope. im pretty happy with it.

Why, would anyone put a 180 section tire on a supermoto ? Even as large as a 690... I don't think the BMW HP2 'MegaMoto' even had a tire that large ...
Street fighter bikes(the genre) have 200+ tires , its a look , nothing to do with performance. :gunsmilie:
Its just a coincidence that the bike im playing with is a 690SM model.:smile2:
Well , i got a 5.5"rim/180 tire on the back now and i need fit an off-set front sprocket.
I need help to catalog the 75033010000 COUNTERSHAFT so i can find am offset sprocket.
Any help would be fantastic.
