07 950sm Rear brakes weak

i recently replaced the rear brake light switch, had to bleed the brakes, while doing so, i could not get them to bleed fully and it was weird. Ive bled plenty of brakes before and this is why i found this strange. While bleeding, instead of the brake getting stiffer, it just got softer, I have almost no pressure coming out of the back. I had to go to work, i let it sit, when i went back to my bike the rear brake was slightly stiffer but very weak braking power. I tried bleeding them again, and the same softness happened. Is there something special i need to do with these brakes? do i need to bleed them differently? Could the master cylinder be bad? Anyone had issues on this?

Welcome to the forum.
Have you got plenty of fluid flowing through? Not to sure about the 950"s, but with some of the dirt squirters, I find it more effective to do the pump and hold down method, rather than trying to pump it through freely with the nipple cracked. The other way I have done the real difficult ones is to back bleed them.
