Cool 06 560 smr (1st supermoto)

hi guys i just recently bought an 06 560 smr... the bike runs fast, way more torque than my 08 1000rr... (btw its my first supermoto)

the problem is,
after a ride about 10kms, after i shut the engine off, it won't start no matter what i do...

the engine cranks but won't start. the battery feels weak...
tried push start, but no luck also...

this was the problem. so i did preventive maintenance.
change oil
change spark plug
change new battery
opened and cleaned the carb
cleaned the oil filter....

after it the bike ran good again....

but after a couple of kilometer riding,,, i encountered the same problem

what seems to be the problem?
charging?
stator?
starter?

My "03 RFS engine was real particular for hard starting when
the valves got tight. I replaced the battery, and still
had to kick start it a lot.
Checked the valves, and both intake and exhaust were tight.
After adjusting them, it started within a few seconds.

If you do not know when the valves were done, I would adjust
them just because you don't know. It's better to have a maintainance
baseline.

Just my 2 cents.

bro the bike starts good when the battery is full charge...

i just checked the charging rate and it goes from 10 to 11 amperes only....

count it be the rectifier?

have you checked to see if you have spark when the bike does not start? If it does it could b vapor locking....maybe check routing of fuel line (to close to hot components) or fuel filter.... If it does not have spark when it shuts off then you have to look on the ignition side...(had a bike that did this and it ended up being a bad coil) Anyway....try to ckeck the spark so you can isolate better where to look...

Oh...and the charge current of 10 to 11 amperes seem to be plenty for your bike. What matters would be the voltage output....should be 13 to 14 volts....

Hope this helps....

its 10-11 volts not amperes

the bikes starts on kick, so i think its on rectifier or other electrical issues

Ah ok....that makes more sense...I did not realize, that when it had the issues, it would start on kick! Most electronic ignition modules have to have at least 10.5V to function and your voltage probably was getting below that when cranking with the electric starter....with the kicker though, you don't have the draw of the starter, so the voltage stays high enough for your ignition to function properly...thus the bike still starts!

Anyway, the 10-11V is probably just the battery voltage remaining, and there is no charge from the engines alternator.
So now there are two possibilities if all your electrical connections are good: either it is a bad alternator (stator coil most likely) or your regulator took a dump....so unless you want to do trial and error with a new regulator, it might be wise to have your dealer test the components.

Hope this will help you fix it.....

Thats exactly what im thinking,
I have to check first the lines and grounds, then regulator,
I hope i won't have to test the stator
