Default Fuel Cap Swelling

I've put 2000 miles on the SMR in the last 6 weeks. The last couple rides I really had to work to get the fuel cap out, and last Sunday I needed a knife to pry it out so I could refuel. When I got home, I pryed it out again and it looks like the lower / bottom piece is swollen and the edge was catching on the filler ring. I used a razor and shaved some of the edge off, now it goes in and out easily. I'm suspecting ethanol caused the rubber/plastic to swell. Sent my dealer an email but haven't heard anything back. Anybody else have similar problems? I know a couple stations in NC that still sell pure gasoline, but all the stations in FL sell fuel with 10% ethanol. A few stations here sell pure recreational fuel but it's only 90 octane. Aviation fuel is 110 octane but it has lead, and obviously this won't help if you're on a trip and buying gas every 150 miles.

Hey Werfel - I don't ride my tard aggressively, everybody knows motards are best suited for leisurely trips to the local hamburger joint and an occasional poker run. BTW, your middle name doesn't happen to be "spam" does it?

Piney just a comment about the aviation fuel.

I myself am a pilot, and at almost all the airports I fly into, they
do sell 100 octane low lead aviation gas.

I take that in a jerry can when I travel into Mexico to boost the octane.

What do you fly, and where are you based? I bought an S model 182 last year, still trying to sell my Aztec. I'm based KVNC (Venice, FL).
