Default WTB - 990 SMR seat

Probably the wrong area to post but I have a '10 SMT and I am not completely happy with the seat.

I would like to try the SMR seat and I am wondering if anyone has one for sale? I sat on the SMR today at the dealer. While the seat seems harder, the profile seems better for hanging off and not bruising my thighs on longer rides.

Anyone have thoughts on the SMR seat?

If not, I might try and shave down the side ridges on the SMT to make it a bit easier to more sideways.

Yeah, I demo rode the T twice and hated the seat. Pushed me too far forward and couldn't shift without taking my foot off the peg. I considered buying the T and an extra R seat, but bought the SMR instead ( for reasons other than the seat ). The R seat is firm, easy to move around on (back and forth, hanging off, etc) and I've found it to be very comfortable all day long. I'm 6-2 and 200#. Even 2-up, the R seat works well. I prefer a firm saddle over a soft one anyway.

I'd think your dealer would let you borrow the R seat for an hour to see how it feels - just sayin.

Thanks for the replies. I am 6'2" and 200 as well. Glad to hear the R seat is good for longer rides.

Good idea on the seat. Next time I am at the dealer, I will ask to give it a go. I may have to break down and buy a new one.
