Bad speedo on 690 SMC
I recently bought a used 2008 with 4100 miles. Within a week of owning it the speedo and other read-outs began flickering. Now they are no longer readable. Once I started researching this, the issue seems quite common. Apparently a bad design.
My problem is that other folks claim to be receiving free replacements from KTM, even outside of the warranty period. My dealer though wants $420 plus labor to replace the unit. Am I talking to the wrong folks?? I love the bike but seeing the instrument cluster fail after 4000 miles is rather concerning.
