690 SMC cutting out.

My KTM 690 SMC has been cutting out lately. In fact it has got more frequent over the past few days. It is also running poorly once going.
Has anyone had similar, and if so what was done to solve it?
I am wondering if the lambda sensor or fuel pump could be part of the problem

Just a hunch, but if the 690 engine is similar to
the duke's, then read this thread (last post tells).
