Default Oil level not coresponding to Manual

On my 05 625 SMC the oil level was not what the manual says it should be.
I thought maybe it needed a change and was posiblly not flowing right due to dirty filters or something. I changed the oil following the maual and also read the post and went to the link Bajadog put up splaining how to do it.
The level is still at the low mark when warmed up not at the top mark.
what would cause this, could one of the hoses be cloged or....?
I am quite mechanicly inclined and know how to measure, so its not my work, what could be the problem? marc

Per Creepers thread on SMJ forum:

"With the bike level, it should be even with or slightly above the lower mark when cold... even with or slightly below the upper mark when hot.

It only takes a few extra ounces of oil to go above the upper line... and a few less to be below the lower line, so don't freak out if it's slightly above or below, it's not super critical."
