I love Amsoil products but I dont believe they offer 10w/60 oil that is required in the LC4. Is this the case?

Duke,

AMSOIL recommended oils for that are MCV 20W-50 or AMSOIL 60 weight Racing oil.

Viscosity grades are a recommendation, not a Specification, especially with a Synthetic oil.

I have been selling quite a bit of the MCV for these applications. Only 2 guys have opted for the 60 weight.

Thanks for response.

When I used the word required, I mean to say 10w/60 and 10w/50 are the only two weights specifically mentioned in my 2010 Duke 690 owners manual.

I can see where 20w/50 would be a suitable replacement but it would sure be nice if Amsoil would look into producing 10w/60 in the future. Again I love Amsoil and use it in other motorcycles with great results.

This will be AMSOIL's view. We already make an oil that fits the Specifications, why make another.

What you look at primarily is the operating temp viscosity (# on right) and I always run the thinnest oil I can that won't cause a problem.

I use 10W-40 on my Wing and my V-Star but will be switching to the 10W-30 we now have and MCF 20W-50 on my Harley. At 9 degrees this winter, I hopped on the HD and fired it up with no problem... Wasn't going riding in those temps, but was curious as a 20W-50 Petroleum would be about like thick honey at 9 degrees.
