Quick questions from a newb. Please

Im new to KTM and was wondering what is the difference in all the different models like-SX,EXC,XC,XCW etc.... I have a 300xcw and was wondering would parts off of a 300exc work with it or is there alot of difference between them. Thanks and im sorry if this has been asked alot but i suck at finding things like this.
