Cool 2009 150 SX vs 200xc

I'm a 5' 6'' 150 lbs 42 yr old guy looking for a bike to ride/race at a mx track or ride/race trails. I currently ride a 07 CRF 250r and am not a pro. As much as I'd like to go really hard, I'm better off holding back since I couldnt make a living with broken bones...all the time...

I was told the 150 sx will do well in the woods but the 200xc may not do as well in the mx track.

Any thoughts??

From what I've read, stay away from the 144cc KTM 2stroke.

Other than that, if you are riding trails, I'd go with 200 XC-W.

The 200 has a better transmission than the 150, unless you will just
ride tracks, then the 150 is fine.

Default 125 144 200 150

as a former 125SX owner, I am currently in the market for a 200 bike. I thought the bikes were quite similar. At least from an engineering POV.I suppose the trans gearing would be different...owners of these please chime in. Is the 150 , a 125 plus sized (piston/crank) ? Or is the motor different in design ? My local KTM dealer went out, in the last couple of months, I think, so I don't have any better info resource ,besides the internet.
