200XC flywheel weight
So I recently bought a 2009 200XC. I have done a couple hare scrambles on it now, and I would really like to put a flywheel weight on it to mellow out the power delivery some.
I have seen 9oz, and 12oz flywheels. I have a couple questions regarding this. Is this 9oz heavier than stock, or does this mean the flywheel actually only weighs 9oz?
How much does the stock flywheel weigh?
How do I tell which one I should get? I am much more for making the bike easier to ride than having gobs of power and revving like crazy. Over the 2 hour race, easier to ride is going to pay much bigger dividends than being a little bit quicker.
Will the 12 oz make it dead, and not snappy enough?
For a point of reference I am a pro licenced road racer, and have just gotten into dirt riding (MUCH CHEAPER). I have done 4 races in the dirt, 2 on my '02 CRF450R, and 2 on the 200XC (I got smart!) I do have good throttle control, and am a decent rider off road, but by no means an expert. I just want to make the bike a little easier to ride, and transition from lugging to screaming smoother.
Thanks Guys.
