Default 125sx problems

the bike will idle fine but when u give it some throttle it wont rev up it will only spit and sputter. I've cleaned the jets, drained the gas and put new gas in, and replaced the spark plug. None of those things helped. I wiggled the wires going in the CDI unit and it would run as long as i moved the wires around. The case is cracked on the unit but i didn't want to start throwing parts at it. Does anyone have any thoughts about it?

Default finger it out ?

did u ? I had a Y2K 125SX, that the OEM reeds frayed apart/chipped on. New reeds, problem solved... what year is yours ? Definately clean the debris, moisture from inside the stator area. Fuel, spark, and compression= internal combustion.Use FRESH hi grade petrol.

i cleaned the terminals i run 110 octane, the bike only acts up when i spray it off or ride through the creek. I found cracks in the seal on the CDI box, i can take the box off and dry it off and the bike will run fine until it gets wet again

Can you use some silicone RTV on the CDI box?

yeah i put silicone on it and i thought it would keep moisture out but i rode the other day and it was fine for about an hour, then i rode through the creek and it started acting up shortly after.

I found out that the CDI box is located in a bad spot and that the forks hit the box when you turn the bars hard left. This causes the box to break and allow moisture in and loosens the connections internaly. If your box is not cracked or the seal is not torn i would recommend moving the box out of the way, i mounted mine under the tank. I hope this helps someone else out
