cracked cylinder

Last summer I noticed something that looked like a crack in the cylinder of my 300. The bike was fine though and I never noticed anything else weird going on with it so I figured it was not really cracked and that everything was fine. Well the other day I got done riding and there was a leak coming from the thing that I thought wasn't a crack. The crack has also grown a little bit too. I'm really hoping that I can just weld it because I don't have the money right now to buy a cylinder. Does anyone know if I can weld on it? I don't know much about welding so I'm not sure about all the different metals and stuff.

Fixing it will be more expensive than buying a used replacement off ebay. You may have additiona cracks in the coolant passages that you cannot see. Scrap it and get a used replacement and do a new top-end while you are at it!
