ktm 150sx 2009 troubleshooting

not sure if this the right place to post this.....
my boyfriend's did a beach race last month, come off after a jump and the bike wouldn't start, spark plug was blackish gray carbon over it, after changing it still wouldn't start, had a look in the carb and there was sand in it, then noticed the top clip on the airfilter had come loose, got home and and cleaned it all out still wouldn't start, changed piston and rings still wouldn't start but there is compression, fuel, etc etc what else can it be??? i've been racking my brains for weeks on this, i knowe more about cars then bikes esp 2 stokes please help

Not that you would have missed this, but did you make sure no cables or grounds came loose from
the coil or CDI after the hard landing?

i mention this to him yesterday but he siad he would look so i'll make sure he looks lol.........
he managed to bump start it this morning and left it running for a bit and took it for a run up the back alley it sounded like a 4 stroke lol after that shut it off then wouldn't start again by kick start he said it had no power to it, so would suggest there something wrong with the power band, but i'll be going his house in a bit so i'll get him to take the tank off to get to the wiring loom.....

hey, yes the power was stuck shut, it's starting on kick now, but still has lack of power, but at least it's running now though, i'll just rack my brians abit longer lol, thank you for your help though

How do the reed valves look?

I wonder if ingesting all that sand might have got some
between the reed and the cage.
