If you can kick start the bike with your hand does this mean it has no compression. Without compression will the bike start?
Can this be fixed buy replacing the piston and ring any help would be great.

Exactly you need to refresh ur top end ! Piston ring gasket ! http://www.motopowervideo.com Go on this website they have instructional dvds step by step for all KTM dirt bikes you will save a lot of labor money doing it on your own!

Great point...once you do a few 2-stroke top-ends you can literally replace the top end beginning to end in under an hour!!
