1990 KTM 250 EXC - What is this bike worth?

Hello everyone,

I'm new to the KTM forum and may have an opportunity to get my hands on a 1990 KTM 250 EXC in a trade deal.

The bike is all there and the guy is including a brand new seat and rear tire with the deal. He said it runs great and needs only a chain/sprocket set.

It's worth whatever someone will pay for it. but in my opinion, it's not worth much, to new to be vintage, to old to have technology upgrades in geometry and suspension. First yiou have to start it. just because he says it runs great doesn't mean a whole lot - he's trying to sell it or trade it to you.
styart it and ride it before you make any decisions.
If it started easy and ran good, i would still only pay less than 500 bucks for it, and thats if i fell in love with it!

I more or less agree with Caltard on this one. It is in that era that is unappealing to most. But this could be your best bargaining chip, play the bike down as much as possible for the sweet deal and then ride away with a smile! I have an 87 XR600 that I absolutely love. No its not my everyday bike anymore but it still gets ridden. If it starts easy and runs good I agree with the $500 range. Just my .02
