Not sure what bike or year, but on a 2008 300 XC
all you need is item #25.

By your description, I'm not sure if it is the spring. If the top - the el of the kicker keeps rotating out - into start position, that is the tiny spring and ball bearing inside #70. KTM does not sell that seperate, and it is hard to carefully take apart that piece. If you can, then you find a similar sized spring at the local hardware store - i found one that was about the same "springiness, and same diameter, but longer, so i just cut it off. The ball is a 6 mm ball. The hardware will have that - or a 1/4 inch one that works as well.

As I said this is a fix if your kickstarter flops out - not forward and backward

I've had the same problem before. It is inside the actual lever. Once you pull the lever off the shaft you can get it apart. I was lucky enough to be able to repair mine but it was a real pain.....give it a shot, just be patient

Sounds like you have a worn kickstart lever and it is usually the ball bearing inside where it pivots. not the return spring.

agree with Joe, likely inside the kicker if it is not rotating in when you kick it.

now, if it doesn't return up when you kick it, then the problem is what baja described.

which is happening?
