RC8\RC8R chain tensioner whats of interest

Speaking seriously, I just got a message from a Dirt Tricks manufacturer:

"Hello, thanks for the note. We have not tested our part in the RC8 motor, so I do not have any testing data on that. The RC8's are a bit rare in our area, I have never even seen one. I have been told that a few guys have installed them and used them without any problems on the RC8. But since we don't have any testing data or first hand knowledge, this would be something you would have to ensure proper fit and function on your own and at your own risk.
Thanks, Nate D. Dirt Tricks"

I did some readings in Duke forum here they have used the Dirt Tricks tensioners on their 690, they just have installed a twice longer spring.
I just bought 2 units. Will come back with the info after.

Gote them, One thing was to do is to machine down some part off ad lower point of tensioner to fit it into cap. That's it. Also I installed double spring instead of one spring given by manufacturer. I just bought a smaller dia one, but a bit stronger and put inside of original one.
Have done 200 miles yet, seems thing works. Let see how it will be in future.

dirt trick uses oil pressure to set but it has ratchet type lock so it won't back off if oil pressure falls. it also fit using the OEM caps. no manual adjustments necessary.

I bought the DJH, I like manual tensioners if I am going to change it, might as well be able to set it myself quickly.

They've worked great so far. I've had them in since last year around this time and did 11 rounds between CCS & WERA & a couple track days and haven't had to adjust it yet.

rc8 chain tensioner, 20k motor, whats of interest

hello,

I noticed @arsenalist had a set of manual timing chain adjusters that he never used.

I have the 20k motor, im wondering why arsenalist didnt use and if you continued with the hydraulic , did you buy new ones for a rebuild.

And if im doing the valve check on my 20k motor, would you get new tensioners. Any other measures.

just need to make notes before i get the covers off it.

cheers
