Haha, brass monkeys weather Jammo?
Do you know where this came from ?
On the olden day boats with cannons, the cannon balls were steel and the triangle they were placed on was nicknamed a monkey and it was made of brass. When it got (very) cold the expansion rates of the metals differed and the brass got smaller quicker. So the balls got unbalanced and could fall off. So the phrase "cold enough to freeze the [cannon] balls off a brass monkey" was invented.
I still see two monkeys running down the street looking for a welder
Suck it up princess......nah just kidding mate.
It plays up my arthritis in my knee
I'd hate to have your temps. Lucky to get under 10 in Bundy in the middle of winter.
You are the lucky one. At least it wasn't icy !!!
I have a ride out on the cards for Saturday BUT its 1.5 to 2 hours away, and if its cold like this, then I think I will do 45 mins to the coast and have a bag of chips for dinner !!
