I bought a used 2021 KTM 1290 Super Duke R.
After accelerating to 260 km/h on the highway, the engine began to lose traction.
I restarted the engine and drove to the next exit, where the revs dropped when changing gears and the bike stalled.
And it wouldn't start again because the battery was dead.

When I checked the battery, I realized it was time for a replacement.
A new one will arrive in three days, and I installed a battery from another motorcycle,
but now the bike stalls after a sharp release of the throttle. And as the revs increase, a loud noise comes from the front of the engine.

This is perplexing......

Could be a number of serious issues...🤔

I had no battery problems and my tech said the 1290s just use the same battery as any liter class sport bike......the battery was the same as my then CBR1100XX and I could swap between the bikes.

However, if the battery was say 3-4 yrs old it likely is not holding a full charge, especially if the charging system is faulty - a multimeter can test this easily however the noise you mention as revs rise makes me wonder if the engine is beginning to seize 😱.

One other thought - fuel pump might be blocked/seizing.......ethanol fuels have a history of turning the filter screens to mush and blocking flow to the Injectors.

BTW, new to you used bike, 260kph first blast on motorway......hope the dealership had done a roadworthy check before selling 🫡

Take it back for warranty work.....
