  1. Canetoads & Cockroaches

    Australia/New Zealand
Taking myself out for lunch tomorrow. Never been to Kingaroy or The Bunya Mountains so I will break that duck tomorrow. 600 kms round trip if I stretch it out through Hampton and on to Esk. This is the plan...

    Road House
You have set the benchmark for yourself nice and early @AliceNicho đź‘Ť Things will only get better from here. You might even sleep better after a good days riding ..... lol!! Other than the handlebar position did any other bike niggles show up?

680 kms is a good 1st day out. Once you do the ergonomics you should enjoy it even more.
  4. KTM has it’s best day in MotoGP

    Moto Track Racing
The KTM had plenty of straight line mumbo and great exit drive. It took Rossi a long time to find a way past Pol, then Rins struggled to get past and binned it on the same lap when he finally did get through. We certainly got to see a lot more of Pol than usual, given how long Rossi was behind...
  5. Canetoads & Cockroaches

    Australia/New Zealand
There is a thread devoted to that topic @DaveAu in the F800 Riders Forum. Seems there is an expensive way to do this and a cheap and easy more convenient way. https://f800riders.org/forum/showthread.php/296777-2012-F800ST-Belt-Replacement Cheers.

  7. 2008 KTM 450 EXC-R HELP

    Offroad 4 strokes
@DW if @joshb973 replaces the head unit (head plus rocker gear) he could have the bike running and providing transport while he takes his time to get the current one disassembled. Am I right to think that or have I missed a trick here? As you know I am pretty good at disassembling stuff, not so...

    Road House
They only have a 16 liter tank @DW so not really a fuel tanker .. though when I was riding Padlocks she got very almost 25 km/l on trips. 400 km from a 16 liter tank is good range. Emergency fuel taker status then Lol!!
  9. 1290 gt wobbly screen??

    Super Duke
There is certainly some flex in the screen on my 2017 SDGT. More so than in a fixed to the fairing style of screen, but no untoward in my opinion. I now have 42,000 kms and haven't had an issue. It doesn't move while you are riding, hasn't cracked, but I do notice the movement when washing it. I...
  10. Canetoads & Cockroaches

    Australia/New Zealand
They are a very underestimated road bike @AliceNicho I borrowed my mate Padlock's for a few months in 2016 and 2017 while waiting for the delivery of my SDGT. I was deep into questioning whether I needed a bike like the SDGT after riding the little Beemer. Comfortable seat, great fuel economy...

    Duke
Sorry to hear that Keith. Good luck with the repair.
  12. 15,000km Service Interval... Really?

    Super Duke
I'm with you @Hammerhead I have heard for years the benefit of half service interval oil changes and never seen the evidence. I have always changed oil and filters with the recommended oil type and viscosity at the recommended intervals and never had an issue. Old, new, air cooled, water cooled...
  13. To Super Duke or Not

    Super Duke
The 2011 model I had only had a stepped spring preload rear spring, not continuous, the non adjustable compression rates were too soft and the adjustable rebound too weak. So you had either a soggy bouncy ride or a harsh bouncy ride. The later models have a handwheel type spring preload and I...
  14. To Super Duke or Not

    Super Duke
I have owned the Ninja 1000. Very nice bike once I changed the suspension, seat, screen and added mirror extenders so I could see more than my elbows. Other changes like paint, tail tidy and slip on cans were for looks only. Seat, suspension and mirrors were for function. I enjoyed owning it...

Baby Manatee ... yummmm. Substitute Manatee for Pork in this bbq recipe: https://rasamalaysia.com/char-siu/ Glad to see you survived the storm. From the video there appears to be little damage to the neighbourhood. If I can survive 5 days with my brothers without alcohol poisoning you should be...

Welcome to the forum @InsanE1 Lots of good content in the Off road 4 strokes side. Someone with more knowledge than me will be better able to answer your questions than me. Keep us up to date with your progress.
  17. Anyone want to talk 990 Sd

    Super Duke
That showed him! I'll bet he won't sneak up on you again. Glad you are still here to write about it and post up the pics - great job on those too! Frame them up and put them in the pool room. Jokes aside it does look nasty. Your back protector looks like it took a lot of the brunt, but it...
  18. KTM 790 arrived !

    Duke 790
Are you still having the same issue with your display? The screenshot supplied by @Geoff J is how the display should look. Let me know and I'll get the techs to investigate. Pete.

Transition visors are available for a few of the Bell helmet range. They are expensive but very worth the spend in my experience. I've been using them for about 6 years now .. on my second one and will be chasing a third shortly. I still wear glasses just don't need sunnies as well. The...
  20. AMatu trackdays Finland

    Moto Track Racing
Great Vid @AMatu Nice steady progression each lap. What was the best lap time before the suspension and brake pad changes? The real question is have the changes made a real world difference or just a better seat of the pants feeling?
