2023 1290 SAS. Installing heated grips.

Issue re: throttle side grip wire lack of adequate slack

When positioning the little black plastic piece in the lower throttle housing,
there is not enough slack in the two thin white wires leading from the grip when the locator/cam/black plastic fitting if located in the lower throttle housing.
The length of wire from the grip to the close edge of the cam is approximately
1-1/8 inches / 23mm which a dealer confirmed was the same as the part he took off the shelf. Anyone run into this problem?

Thanks,
Billy

I figured it out. You have to slide the cam down the wire to allow more slack. I didn't want to force it and break the wire, but it will slide and is basically "adjustable". So everything is hooked up. The other issue now is that the SETTINGS-HEATING page is not on the menu.
It WAS listed when I checked a few months ago, but is not NOT there nowI called three dealers and KTM HQ and was told conflicting things. My understanding had been that if the HEATING-GRIPS tab shows up it's just a matter of clicking INSTALL. I think there is a chance that the dealer in some way deleted it when they "updated" the software a few weeks ago.
Any thoughts? (2023 1290 SAS)

Do you know whether the HEATING tab came up under Settings prior to the grips being plugged into the bike. One dealer told me that as soon as the grips are plugged into the bike's system, the HEATING tab is removed.

I got conflicting information from three KTM dealers AND KTM Customer Service in California.
Sounded like BS to me. I told my dealer that the HEATING tab disappeared since they "updated" the software.
He said they'd take care of it while I wait for it next week; we'll see, so far everything with the dealer has been basically a fight and A LOT of downtime.
