I hope someone can answer my question or help with my problem. i recently bought a 2006 ktm 125sx for a great price, but the cylinder and head are gone. new they are about 700.00. i have found one for a 2002 model, will it work? if not any ideas without buying new?
I've got a 04 ktm 125sx what year of a 200sx or 250sx cylinder and head will fit on on it if any at all. I'm doing this for a friend pretty much rebuilding the whole motor and I was just curious if we can make it bigger. I will be porting and polishing it with a few other mods and I would like to know what Reeds is best for this bike because it looks like you cannot get V Force 3 or V Force 4 Reeds for this bike but you can for the 200 and the 250 so thank you for any knowledge and help
If you want to put a bigger piston on a KTM125 the only one I know of that will fit is a KTM150 barrel and piston, but I don't think KTM made a 150cc bike with that early motor?
Earlier KTM also had a 144cc cylinder that could be an option. But I have never worked with one so I do not know what you need to do, apart from change piston. And not sure they are available anymore.
Regarding trying to fit 250cc bits on a 125 motor, that will not work. They have a different stroke just as one issue.
But the 200 cylinder will fit! Part # 52330038300. I do not know what other things apart from cylinder, piston and cylinder head needs to be changed.
The frame changed from 2006 to 2007 so to fit a 2007 tank on a 2006 will not be a straight forward job. I have not done this, but as the tanks are moulded to fit on their respective frames I think the answer to your question is sadly NO.
But the black tanks are a pain anyhow and I prefer the white ones as we can easily see how much fuel there is left.
I look in to it and come back to you. Give me a day or two and I should have some answers.
