I just today put a deposit on a 2008 450 EXC-R that I will pick up on Saturday. I considered the alternative Japanese brands, but liked the lightness of the KTM. So tell me the good, bad and ugly?

I just today put a deposit on a 2008 450 EXC-R that I will pick up on Saturday. I considered the alternative Japanese brands, but liked the lightness of the KTM. So tell me the good, bad and ugly?

It's all good, no bad and certainly not ugly. It is a sweet bike that I have been lusting over for several years. All parts of these bikes are top quality and could save money by eliminating the need for aftermarket replacements.

I was at the local KTM dealer yesterday looking (again) at the 450 and 530 EXC. I also checked out the 950R Erzberg limited edition. Wow...nice looking machine. This would be nice on the road as well as tame off road trails.
