I have both the 2020 V4 Street fighter and recently purchased a 2022 SD Evo. I’ve modded both as far as you can go with everything right down to BST rapid tek wheels on both. 100% you made the right choice. The Street fighter is a good bike but the power comes on way too high and keeps going to I think 15,500 rpm’s. That’s not a great engine for around town and back twisties. On the track yes it would be a blast but I absolutely hands down love then 2022 1290SD! Even with its issues here and there.
You sir, have too much money!

Interesting. How has yours been? I wonder if his issues are partly bad luck and partly his own doing. And with all the mods he’s done I won’t be surprised if his case is not settled in his favour. The mods give them an out I think.
Damn.. I really hope KTM learns and investigates his issues. Can I assume yours is free from most If not all issues?
First one was perfect but sold it after 6000 miles as a got a good deal
Second one got thrashed ,did 4 track days and 10,000 miles and that just had a leaky clutch slave cylinder so got the Oberon as I didn't want to wait.
Third one I got just before Christmas and only done 200 miles as the roads are damp and full of salt but so far so good ,,,,gotta track day at Aragon in spain end of April so if it lasts that trip i guess I've had 3 gooduns ,,,,Probably just F***ED my self over saying that though :ROFLMAO:

Good to hear. Now go touch wood.

My new 22 is sitting in the garage, delivered a week ago with all ordered farkles just installed. Was telling my wife about the bad luck some have had, so she came out to the garage and went over the whole bike with her sage. I should be good now.

Hi all, recently purchased a Super Duke R over the Streetfighter v4 (yet to receive my booking deposit back ><). I found out that the unit i bought was brought in on June 2022. I've had the bike now for over a month with just over 2000 km done. Happy to say no real issues yet and have been having way too much fun with this bike. However, two specific youtubers have given me some anxiety on this bike S.D.R, who has the SuperDuke GT, and Sergeant Sodom (his 2022 SDR has so many issues!).

I've so far seen MTC failure and MCU failure error messages pop up on the dash. The former popping up at least twice but I realized it popped up right after one of my buddies stalled the bike when he went on the test ride (never popped up since and both occasions when it stalled). As far as the latter is concerned, i only ever saw it once. No warning lights whatsoever ever since but its only been a week since i saw these errors. Should i be concerned? I think its a little premature to send it in to the dealers to check since there are no warning lights. Anyone else having any experiences like me? Just wondering if its a start to something more diabolical. Would love to hear more thoughts/experiences on this.
Mine occasionally brings up the MTC failure if the bike doesnt immediately start. As soon as it kicks into life, it disappears and no further issue!

Ok new issue has popped up.. just listing down issue so there are more references especially for a 3 month old bike. I just encountered "key not in range". Wtf.. weak battery? Anyone face similar issues? Key has always been in my pants pocket.

Could be the battery in the key. Could also be the connector for the ring-shaped sensor under the right-hand cowling. That connector is in that gap where the cowling meets the tank. Try putting the physical key right on the sensor and starting the bike.

Brand new GT and Evo, I had the key not in range a few times on the GT with the key in a trouser pocket, not had it since I moved the fob higher. Once so far on the Evo with it on a lanyard around my neck (came up on the screen for a few seconds and then went away). My phone has not been close in either case. Gremlins. I suspect it might be caused intermittently by other radio-waves flying around, maybe from cars with sensors and etc.

It (probably) won't ever turn your bike off. I had my car fob battery die, so I started it with the key and drove 50 miles home with the "Key not in range" warning blazing.

It doesn't turn the bike off. You can start the bike with the dumb key and drive it just the same.
