I wish. The bike is brand newSomeone tried to push a dent out from the inside with a tommy bar and succeeded in creating a pimple.
Metal for sureIs this a metal tank? Not resin, right? The metal on the tanks IS getting thin but wow on that if its metal. A carefully-placed stripe decal may conceal, or perhaps some gripster...
Sorry. If it IS resin, im guessing the Ethanol issue.
I was thinking I crushed it too but really!! That’s a hell of a grip. Then I was thinking vacuum is the only way I that could suck in. Definitely going to try the dealer then. I thought maybe it was another common issue with the duke. My 990 had ethanol issues so why not this lolThighmaster much? To crush a metal tank by squeezing with your thighs would be quite a feat. Something else going on here.
@Hammerhead may not be far off. But if it wasn't you, you could always try your dealer for warranty.
Doesn't mean some mope at the shop couldn't have put a drunk bump on it and then tried to pop it out. Metal tanks don't deform on their own.I wish. The bike is brand new
Doesn't look collapsed at all. Looks punched out after being punched in.Ethanol warped my old Monster tank, but with metal you're safe of course. The plastic tank on my Duke 690 partly collapsed in a heavy rain, vent got plugged. Is it possible the fuel pump is strong enough to collapse a metal tank if vent is plugged? Did you change your fuel cap?
