Are these bikes too old now, to still merit any love or admiration? Have they gone the way of the Dodo? Do the shadows of their successors keep them forever in the dark past? Are we, their owners, to be shamed for still hanging on to the enjoyment of the analog riding experience? I THINK NOT.

Show me some 990 SuperDuke love.

My dealer has one on the floor that I might try to take out for some fun.

Today's 990 love project. Some parts (mainly the damper clamp) from a kit for an MT09 and a few spacers, washers and bolts from the hardware store.

The $50 KTM branded clamp didn't work because it has no heim/rose joint. The clamp from the $30 MT09 kit does the trick. I found out the hard (expensive) way.

...and the fork clamp is size 60 mm. Got it from eBay for $15.

Got some head shake during heavy acceleration on the highway. Probably due in-part to the 60/40 shinko 705 tires. I've got sag dialed in to about 35mm. Hopefully this will sort it out a bit. Total cost was about $100. (not counting the $50 mistake).
