Technical question: I've installed the akrapovic map on my rc8 2008. (K&N and JCE-exhaust). First ride was with a lot of pops and bangs. (Too rich), now it rides normal.
So my question is, how much can the cdi adjust your fuelmapping? What are the values he is adjusting for? Aren't you loosing all gains from the mapping?

I'm sorry. It was send on my cellphone.
So I started with K&N filter and JCE-exhaust and active lambdasensors.
KTM 1190 RC8
2008 model year
with standard exhaust
KM690EU0802001Map.hex
Then I changed mapping to:
KTM 1190 RC8
2008 model year
with Akrapovic exhaust
KM690EU0802031.hex

First 15 minutes of the first ride was with a lot of pops and bangs. Then It drove smoothly.

So my questions are:
*I pressume both times it works to the same AFR? So is there any difference between both maps after the auto-adjust? (Did I gain anything with the new map?)
*How much can the program adjust by itself?
*I just saw the SAI is still activated in second map. Should I deactivate it?

Thanks for reading

im looking at those maps and ive played with both.
I cant tell you any fact, just guesses with clues.

but the only auto thing on the fuelling is from the 02 sensor system and thats got nothing to do with aggressive riding and revving hard.

its about low revs and cruising

about the 0802031.hex , it has more fuel in the higher revs, both the throttle position map and the engine load one.

what i think is the 0802001.hex has some really good low rev high gear moments and a rich map spoils those with sluggish behavior .

both maps have same ignition.

it kinda depends on your riding .

please post up more, although others dont often reply its a good discussion.

Tomorrow I will download the adjusted map out of my cdi. Then we can compare both original akrapovicmap and adjusted Acrapovicmap. So we can see how much the o2-system can adjust. (And disable Sas.)

when you download a new map you need to do the 15min idle without touching the throttle.
you also reset throttle parameters by a throttle reset .

follow this
complete download map
start bike and let idle until fan comes on and its over 10 min, somtimes ive done 15 min, dont touch throttle.
.
then turn off key completely for 5 seconds . turn on key and the dashboard goes its lights.
dont start bike, just turn throttle all the way full throttle and then back to zero. do it without jerking.

turn off key again.

start bike and ride.

Today I've downloaded the adjusted map out of the bike. When I compared it with the one that I uploaded in the ECU it is still the same.
So it adjusts the map but doesn't write it over the base map?
(I disabled the SAI to.)

The 02 data must remain in ecu as virtualmemory , because the 15min idle reset actually resets all those details , thats why you supposed to do that idle reset to get rid of the old learned trims and start with new learning. but dont even stress on that stuff as maybe it re learns on the road every 15min or 500km, im not sure but this 02 system has nothing to do with power.

what are you wanting ?
