Hi all,
I am looking to remove the cush drive from my 2017 SDR. The only help I can find online is the picture I've uploaded.

Is it as simple as it looks? Remove M27 nut and securing pins then (I get this won't be easy) then remove the cush drive from the splined shaft. I would imagine there will be a reasonable about of friction to overcome.

I can't find a torque or loctite recommendation for replacement.

Can anyone help?

Yes it is as easy as it looks. It should slide right off. Clean the splines and very lightly grease on reassembly.

The great friction comes only if you endeavor to remove the hub; that usually takes a nice dead-blow rubber mallet.

bought orange nuts to replace the cush drive ones. Despite people saying it is possible, there is no way to access the Allen head bolts on the inside of the hub. It might be that my chain is new and the hub is in its most forward position. After reading the replies above it seems easier to remove the drive and swap the nuts rather than scratch the hud or round the bolts trying to force a fit.
