Evotech Tidy Tail Wiring Help

I just installed the Evotech Tidy Tail on my 2017 Duke 690. Overall the instructions were not that great, but it was pretty quick to get the old fender off and the new one on.

I am having a problem with the rear brake light wiring. There are no instructions that came with the package that discuss it. I tried to follow instructions on this thread.
on the R&G Tail Tidy was also helpful.

I decided to reuse the old connector: Yellow=>Yellow, Brown=>Black, White/Green=>Red. However, the brake light is permanently on and the license plate light does not turn on at all.

On the old fender, there are two plugs: One for the brake light (three plugs) and one for the license plate light (two plugs). The plugs the kit came with are junk and don't fit into the existing connectors.

Can anyone tell me which wire goes where?

Thanks!

The evo doesn't use the 2 pin connector as the license plate light is in the same housing and gets its power from the main 3 pin. The Evo colors are as follows: Red 12v+, Black Ground/Negative-, Yellow Brake switch The factory wires are: Yellow 12v+, Brown Ground/Negative-, White/green Brake switch.

Im going off memory from 2 years ago, so twist the 12v+ and neg- together first to test. If the tail light comes on then your good, if not then the factory 12v+ is brown and yellow is -. Dont worry it wont damage the light, but im 99% sure I remember it correctly. And I know the evo colors are correct as described, good luck man

Thanks for the tips! I'll check on it in the morning once there's some light. Let me try to summarize, since I'm not great with electronics:

First try the Factory Yellow 12v+ with the Evo Brown neg-. If not, then try the Brown 12v+ with the Evo Brown neg-. Then it's Factory White/Green with the Evo Yellow for the brake switch and then whatever is left over from the first test?
