Does anyone have one of these laying around or know where to buy one used? Out of stock everywhere with no ETA.

I just sent an email. Thanks for the help.
Be careful of these types of posts! Another forum I'm on gets these all the time, usually a name with numbers @gmail.com, they then reply with another address to pay via paypal. Not saying it isn't legit, but this is identical to about 30 or 40 posts on my other forum with scammers.

Forgot to mention, its always a brand new member with one post that's referring someone to another person for purchase of something.

Yes the conversation got weird pretty quick and then with your warning I just stopped responding ding. Thanks for having my back!!! Are there any aftermarket options that have the correct bolt pattern that you might suggest I look into?

Glad you didn't get scammed, and sorry, I don't, but you're not alone in searching for KTM parts lately! Seems like they've almost stopped bringing anything in for their PowerParts department!!! Wishin' ya luck in finding one for your bike though, perhaps find one of them chinese ones from Amazon for a temporary mount? So long as the bolt holes line up, pretty hard to go wrong with a flat piece of aluminum stock.

I've been waiting for the same part since September 2022, nothing in sight. Frustrating as the top case and backrest are sitting at the dealer but I'm not taking them without the adapter since they are of no use. It would be great to find an alternative.

Yep, and it goes back even further than that! Guys on the 390 forum have been searching for the 1 piece seats for their bikes with zero availability and NO eta on them! Lots of other non-available parts too, I've seen a few folks waiting for parts to fix their bikes and cannot ride until they are available. I would think KTM knows there's an issue and they'd work to find a new supply chain or get on the ones they currently have. Covid is no longer an excuse they can hide behind, this is now clearly mismanagement in their purchasing and production departments!

Given I haven't taken my top case from the dealer yet I don't even know what the interface to the adapter is/which hole it mates into. To Flyin's point it's just a relatively flat piece of stock that with the right holes for mounting and the right slots for mating should be easy to replicate for someone with the right skills.

Anyone have a picture of the bottom of the case for reference?
I am a typical guy with absolutely zero metal working skills or experience, so please no jerk comments about the quality here. I bought a piece of 3/16” thick 12” x 12” steel for $10. Looking back I should have purchased 1/8”. I have a cutoff wheel and a grinding disc I will use later today to cut off the excess material and round out the counters, etc. then I will paint it black. I will post the final product with the bolt pattern in a few days.

Great initiative, whatever gets the job done. I would happily copy your pattern when you can supply. Given the plate is fully covered by the case, looks don't matter if it's functional.
Are those sockets you're using for spacers? Ain't nothin' wrong with that for a temp setup at all! I'd suggest taking the grinder to the pointy edges and round them a bit so you don't find them accidentally! Looks like you did that to the front of the plate, might as well do it to the rear too! Also suggest using a little bit of Loctite to make sure you don't lose any of the hardware, either blue or orange would be perfect, red if that's all you have but only a very small amount so its not too hard to remove if/when you get the oem plate.

That should work just fine though, good for you making your own! Not many out there are willing or capable of doing what you did!

Those were chrome spacers. I have a very small website that sells chrome fasteners so I have a bunch here at the house. Let me know if you ever need chrome fasteners. www.fancyfasteners.com
Enough self serving talk. Here is where I am now. I thought the 3/16” steel was too heavy so I started over today with 1/8” steel. It is 50% lighter and easier to cut, drill and grind. I also replaced the long front fasteners with angle iron. Also 1/8” thick. This way the top case bracket can seat fully onto a completely smooth surface. I will finish cutting it down to size and painting it over the next few days.

I was ready to call my dealer today to get them to send me my top case so I could fab up a bracket like OP has shown and...they called to tell me the adapter finally arrived! So I'll be all set up with the OEM configuration before long. Hopefully others that are waiting on the same get some good news soon as well.
I finished and install my homemade plate today. Works great.

I just replaced the factory luggage carrier on my '22 890 with an excellent $100 aftermarket option from Nicecnc. I'm super OCD and picky but the excellent quality and finish of this Chinese made rack blew me away. It has a bigger footprint than the factory rack which is what I needed and can be installed with or without the factory passenger grab handles. They include all the necessary spacers and bolts for a super easy installation.
