Hi guys

Was performing a routine gearbox oil change on my 200 EXC and discovered numerous small metallic shards 1-2mm in length on the sump plug (it's magnetic).

This indicates a bearing has gone somewhere in the gearbox right? What should I proceed to do now, what is it likely to be?

Bike was running fine, no indication of any problems.

Suggestions?

It could be pieces of the doggs on the gears from aggresive shifting or miss shifting (grinding) unfortunatly its normal wear. I doubt it is bearing material. Good Luck

Thanks for that info.

Got similar thoughts from other forums.

Is there anything that can be done to minimise wear? I have been clutchless upshifting but assumed this would not harm a bike with the race pedigree of KTM, I race road bikes and this is the norm..
