Basically you'll want to set your valves to 0.10 mm which is right in the middle of the range for 2013-2016.
Since valve clearances typically get tighter with wear, I generally set mine to the LOOSE end of the spec. Since the specs are 0.010 to 0.015 mm for the intake valves, I would set them to or close to 0.015mm. Exhaust spec is 0.020 to 0.025 mm... so I would set them at or close to 0.025 mm.

Doing it that way means the clearances stay in spec longer.

We seem to have different specs, for the 2013 Duke 690 the spec is:

0.07 ... 0.13 mm (0.0028 ... 0.0051 in)

Via PDF page 169 (actual page 167) in the 2013 owner's manual

The OP was asking about a 2016. 2016 and 2017 have the same motor. I have a 2017, so the specs I posted were for that bike as listed in the Owner's Manual. Completely different engine and valve train, I am not surprised the clearance specs are different.

But my point is, set them at the loosest they can be and still remain within spec.

Anyone having problems acquiring the two sparkplugs for 2016+ dukes? I cannot find the exact NGK plugs anywhere. It says in the manual for the inside plug LKAR9BI-10 and outside is LMAR7DI-10.

I've found the LKAR8BI-9 and LMAR7A-9 for the 2012-2015 fine. My other option is grabbing it from KTMtwins oem partfinder and each plug is going around $60-70 which is crazy.

Thoughts?

That's bonkers. Wilder at Moto Guild hooked me up. You can also give Scuderia's parts dept a call and see what they say.

They're not cheap spark plugs at around $7 each but they should never be that crazy expensive.

EDIT: wait you're talking about 2016+ plugs, disregard, I wish you the best in finding some that aren't that expensive...

About $100 for the pair at Rocky Mountain ATV/MC, although they are backordered. That is still a nasty can't sit down for a month ripoff though.

Motor Cafe had them in stock a few months ago I believe. Give them a ring?

Called around to see who has what. Mach1motorsports has them one for 45 and the other for 25. Still unreasonable prices for iridium plugs in my opinion but better than any other prices out there. If you're in the Bay Area, Mach1 in Vallejo has a few.

I just tried to download the 2017 manual. I got connected to your server, but got a message "Unable to download file(s)". Any idea what's happening??

Well, fine. I am just of the opinion that a service manual ought to come with the bike.
