Hi all. I have just joined and was wondering.... Recently acquired an (exc f 250, 2008)
Changed oil, front sprocket and a few other bits like adding a fuel screw etc. When replacing the spark plug I noticed it was fouled.
Could this be the oil from rocker to pre carb and likely due to rings? The air box had engine oil in ( not from filter )
Not sure if the pressure from below the piston heads that way or not.
Either way it is getting a top end and valve clearance check.
Thanks

Hello and welcome. You may find your oil residue in airbox is blowby from crankcase vent. Your fouled spark plug could indicate fueling issue or both symptoms could indicate overfilled crankcase or possibly overfilled crankcase due to overfueling/flooding. Certainly a good idea to regularly check valve clearance, but you may want to check engine compression and cylinder leakage as well. If you found cylinder leakdown and compression normal you may want to look elsewhere for plug fouling issue. Check motor oil for fuel smell and possible overfilled motor oil. Hope that helps. Good luck
