What does the yellow dot on the bottom of the dash signify?

I looked in the manual. It was a little vague...

I get a yellow dot in the lower-left corner periodically. Sometimes it's on solid when the bike is completely off and just sitting. Sometimes not. Sometimes it's on faintly while I'm riding the bike and flickers a little. Sometimes it doesn't.

It's really weird.

Any ideas?

I confess, I don't have a clue. Mine's a 2016, so it's different altogether.
That's quite a puzzle; somebody on here will know.

Fair enough! Thanks for looking.
FWIW, that’s the “RACE-ON” indicator.

The manual doesn’t give any indication such would ‘flicker’ while in motion.

I saw that in the manual, but what exactly does the "Race-on" indicator light mean? Bear in mind, this has never happened before in 4k miles....
On my 2017 that light says whether your key is in range or not. It blinks twice when you're thumbing the race-on button when the key's out of range. It also blinks when engaging the steering lock. The functionality is probably the same for the 2020.

Nothing in the manual about the keyless system that answers your question?
Is the "Race-On" button the same thing as the start button? Mine's a '16, and requires a key turn, then a button push to start, like most all bikes prior to the keyless fob trend of late.. I am not familiar with a Race-On button, so I'm guessing that's KTM speak for the starter button.

Not that I have been able to find...

I'm guessing something must be wrong as no one seems to be chiming in that their bike does this too.

I'll guess I'll have to schedule a service.

Have you checked the key fob battery? It almost seems as if it's a recognition that the key is engaged in some manner. Yours might be losing signal along the way or something in that regard.

On BMW keyless start, this usually means that the battery in the key fob is getting low. I've had to change batteries at least yearly, sometimes a little more. Not sure if KTM system is the same, but give it a try.

If the key fob battery is low this light will sometimes flash indicating that it hasn't had a proper "handshake" Try changing the fob battery and see if it goes away. dont assume that the battery or "fob is new so that cant be". These fobs are temperamental and the batteries can be too.

This is correct for the 19+ as well. Leave the key out of proximity of the sensor and hit the ‘on‘ button, it’ll flash.
The battery in the fob is fresh. But the light stays on constantly. Whether the bike is on or off... I guess I'll have to bring it to the dealer.

I would disconnect the bikes main battery and try reset it that wayfirst.
Yeah, I replaced the bike's factory battery this weekend and the light persists even after having the battery completely removed... So weird.

Did you check the batter pack for an expiry date?....maybe an old new battery if you see what I mean;-)
And, decent branded battery or some random cheepo?
My gen 1 has a small yellow light when the key isn't paired with the bike.

I have a KTM 1290 Super Adventure R from 2019. I have the exact same issue so I am very interested to find out what solved it for you. I have tried changing the battery in the key fob and also disconnected the battery of the bike. Still the same issue. BR Rune
